ഭരതനാട്യം ചാന്നാർ വളരെയധികം പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന കലാപ്രകടനമായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും, മണിച്ചിത്രത്താഴ് സിനിമയിൽ ചിത്രീകരിച്ച പോലെ ഒരു നർത്തകിയെ അദ്ദേഹം മേടയിൽ കൊണ്ട് വന്നു താമസിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നതായി യാതൊരു തെളിവും ഇല്ല. ഈ കഥ മണിച്ചിത്രത്താഴ് തിരക്കഥാകൃത്ത് മധു മുട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഭാവന മാത്രമാണ്.
